Wow what a strange job this was!

Weta Workshop had the unique opportunity to send a 3D printed Titanium Gnome into space for Gabe Newell (creator of half life), and Rocket Lab.

I played a very small part in this project, building the interior fitments of his feet, and helping to prepare him for manufacture in 3D. The game res model was cleaned up by my colleague Luke Hawker. The gnome passed through many hands on the workshop floor, so we all had a little piece of our work in space.

For every viewer of the launch, Newell pledged to donate $1 to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit New Zealand's Starship Foundation. So far, Gnome Chompski's launch has raised over $80,000.
